The Tree Pros

Terms of use

Last updated August 2026

We are a directory, not a contractor

The Tree Pros lists independent tree service businesses. We do not perform tree work, do not employ the people who do, and are not a party to any contract you enter into with a listed business. Hiring decisions, and the consequences of them, are between you and the company you hire.

A listing is not an endorsement, a recommendation, or a statement that a business is licensed, insured or competent. Verify credentials yourself — our guide on what the credentials mean explains what to check and how.

Accuracy of listings

We compile listing information from public sources and business submissions, and we work to keep it accurate. We cannot guarantee that any detail is current. Businesses close, change numbers and move without telling us. If you find something wrong, use the “report an issue” link on the listing and we will correct it.

Content you submit

By submitting a review or other content you confirm that:

  • It describes your own genuine, first-hand experience.
  • You have no undisclosed connection to the business — you do not own it, work for it, or compete with it.
  • You were not paid or otherwise compensated for it.
  • It is yours to submit and does not infringe anyone’s rights.

You keep ownership of what you write, and grant us a non-exclusive licence to publish it on this site. We moderate against our published review guidelines and reject only on the grounds listed there — never for being unfavourable.

Quote requests

Submitting a quote request sends your details to us, not to a tree service business. We do not currently pass requests on to listed businesses. If that changes we will say so in our privacy policy first. We do not guarantee a response, a price, availability, or the quality of any work performed.

Acceptable use

Do not use this site to:

  • Submit fake reviews or reviews on behalf of someone else.
  • Scrape, bulk-download or republish our listings or content.
  • Submit quote requests you have no intention of following up.
  • Attempt to interfere with the site or its security.

Paid placement

Some listings may be paid placements. These are always labelled “Featured”. Paying does not change, hide or reorder reviews, and does not remove other businesses from a page. Some links in our guides are affiliate links and are labelled where they appear.

No warranty, and limits on liability

The site is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim warranties of any kind regarding the site and its content, and we are not liable for loss arising from your use of it or from any dealing with a listed business.

If your use of the site causes us a problem

If someone brings a claim against us because of something you did here — content you submitted, a term you broke, or someone’s rights you infringed — you agree to cover the reasonable costs of dealing with it, including legal fees. This applies only to claims arising from your own conduct. It does not cover anything we did.

Disputes, and where they get resolved

Texas law applies. These terms, and any dispute about them or about this site, are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

Try us first. Most problems are a mistake or a misunderstanding. Email support@thetreepros.com with what happened and what you want done. If we cannot sort it out within 30 days, either of us can start arbitration.

Arbitration. Disputes that are not resolved informally are settled by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, by a single arbitrator, rather than in court. Under those rules your filing fee is capped and we pay the remaining arbitration costs. The arbitration is held in Harris County, Texas, or by phone, video or written submission if you prefer — you will not be required to travel.

Two exceptions. Either of us may bring a claim in small claims court if it qualifies. Either of us may also ask a court for an injunction to stop misuse of the site, our content, or intellectual property.

No class actions. Claims are brought individually. Neither of us will bring a class, collective or representative action, and the arbitrator may not combine claims or award relief to anyone who is not a party.

Courts, when arbitration does not apply. For anything that falls outside arbitration, both of us agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts in Harris County, Texas.

If the class waiver fails. If the class-action waiver is found unenforceable, the whole of this arbitration section does not apply and the dispute goes to the Harris County courts named above.

How these terms work

If part of this does not hold up. If a court decides one part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. The part that fails is narrowed only as far as needed to make it work, not discarded wholesale.

The whole agreement. These terms, together with our privacy policy and review guidelines, are the entire agreement between us about your use of this site. They replace anything said before.

Transferring them. You cannot transfer your rights under these terms to anyone else. We may transfer ours if the site is sold or reorganised, and these terms would carry over unchanged.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top reflects the current version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
